When Swallows Cry in Khayelitsha

Mandisi Sindo is a mover-and-shaker who created a theatre – the Shack Theatre – in Khayelitsha without any government support, intending to bring professional theatre to his community, and to provide access to performing arts skills for people in Khayelitsha.  We staged When Swallows Cry at the theatre on 22 June, the third production we have taken there after Pay Back the Curry and Another One’s Bread.
