UCT Black Management Forum Chapter Chat

Saturday evening with students at UCT discussing the Creative Sector in South Africa

The University of Cape Town's Black Management Forum chapter comprising students mainly, invited me to talk about the possibilities and challenges of working within the South African creative sector.  A number of the participants were drama students, and it was not surprising - but depressing - that they still indicated that they were not taught about teh real conditions in which they will be required to make their livings.  Thankfully, they have excellent role models in young creative entrepreneurs like Jefferson Tshabalala, Mxolisi Masilela and Koleka Putuma who are simply getting on with their lives as creatives, without expecting government  - or anyone else - to do anything for them.
