The New Abnormal...Stand-Up Commentary

Much is made of "the new normal", our masked and sanitising way of life in a time of a pandemic!  But the 'old normal' normalised racism, inequality and gender-based violence which, in terms of fundamental human rights and social justice, should be described as 'abnormal'.  If 'the new normal' simply perpetuates historical violence, division and inequality, then it should be called 'the new abnormal', hence the title of the piece.

I've labelled the form "stand up commentary" as it uses a stand up comedy format and techniques to make its points while also have parts that are unashamed social commentary (without humour necessarily). 

I'm toying with the idea of performing it myself....
