The Good White at TEKSMARK
Klein Karoo National Arts Festival hosts its annual script market at the Baxter Theatre
Each year, for the last number of years, the KKNK hosts an a script market in August at which 10-minute excerpts of new plays are staged and followed by discussions with the playwrights and directors. The purpose of the script market is to present new work to potential producers. I had an excerpt of a still-to-be-completed work - The Good White - set against the backdrop of the Fees Must Fall campaign, selected for a reading. There was a warm reception to the piece, directed by Geoff Hyland. At least one festival has expressed interest in the work. The staged reading was a gift for my birthday on 31 August. :-)
