Teksmark does Satire

From the River Thames to the Sea (Point)

Teksmark is the script market of the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival where, each year, writers are invited to submit new texts for presentation to audiences and potential producers.  This year, the focus was on satire and I submitted a sketch, From the River Thames to the Sea (Point) in which two white male South Africans - an Afrikaner and a Jew - both of whom now live abroad in London and Israel respectively, strike up a conversation in an airport queue while they wait to check in before returning 'home' from visits to South Africa.  The sketch was performed by David Muller and Nicky Rebelo to some awkward laughter as the piece took on the theme of 'genocide'.
