Supporting Contemporary South African Theatre and Dance

COVID-19 has laid bare the challenges facing the theatre and dance sectors in our country, two social, arts and economic sectors that will among the last to be 'unlocked', and even then, until a vaccine is in place, social distancing will require restrictions on audiences that will render many productions even more unviable than has generally been the case. Ten of us in the dance and theatre sector are working towards the Sustaining Theatre and Dance (STAND) Foundation to support these sectors in the long term.  More information to follow, but we are being led by the incredibly talented Gregory Maqoma who serves as the chairperson of our steering committee.
