STAND-TO-REASON Dialogues

STAND Foundation, in association with Woordfees, hosted a weekend of panel discussions in Stellenbosch from 18-20 February.  It was the first time that many who attended and participated were able to be in a physical space with other practitioners for more than a year.  Eleven panels interrogated a range of contemporary subjects and were livestreamed nationally.  Topics included 'The decolonisation of theatre and dance: does it even mean anything?', 'What we have learned about teaching drama at schools' and "Our hopes and fears for the future' with a panel of young practitioners.  It was probably the first time that such a diverse range of practitioners met to engage with these topics, one of the more positive outcomes of the pandemic.
