Requiem for Justice

I was invited to participate in an event - Requiem for Justice - a solidarity event for Palestine, hosted by Act for Hope, a Lebanon-based organisation, from 22-24 September.  The theme of my panel was freedom of expression and speaking truth to power, something which white-majority, liberal democracies have been failing in when it comes to the genocide in Gaza, and holding Israel accountable.  Instead, many of these liberal democracies that sprout human rights, freedom and democracy, have suppressed criticism of Israel, and have actively supplied the military, economic and political support required for the genocide to be sustained over more than a year!  I have been an active participant in the Palestinian Arts and Culture Solidarity Collective (PACSOC), an informal network of creatives across fifteen countries who seek to provide support to colleagues in the Palestinian arts and culture sector who are even more precarious than ever.
