Protesting Germany's complicity in the Gazan genocide
Two protests were held on 9 February outside the Goethe Institute in Johannesburg and the German Consulate in Cape Town
I have a long relationship with Germany as a Fellow of the Robert Bosch Foundation. However, their overt support for the Israeli state's genocidal and ethnic cleansing campaign in Gaza and the silencing of many pro-Palestinian voices by German cultural institutions has required many to take a stand. I participated in the protest in Cape Town along with other theatre makers and representatives of various social activist sectors.
