MISTRA Imbizo on Arts and Development

The Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Thinking (MISTRA) hosted a two-day imbizo from 10-11 April on the theme "Rethinking the Positioning of the Arts in South Africa".  Contributors include Mongane Wally Serote, Lebogang Nawa, Steven Sack, Michelle Constant, Roche Mamabolo, Njabulo Zwane, Avril Joffe and Thabo Lehlongwa.  I presented a short paper on "The role and relevance of arts and culture to the Sustainable Development Goals, the AU 2063 Agenda and the National Development Plan" (available on the website under "Articles").
