I co-facilitate (with Erica Elk) a conference in Senegal at the Goiree Institute head by Breyten Breytenbach on “Reviving Africa’s Cultural Assets”, focusing on the position of Africa’s creative industries in the context of the global creative economy.
I participate in a panel discussion at the Woordfees in Stellenbosch.
The book, Imagining the City: memories and cultures in Cape Town is launched at Obz Café, and I am one of the speakers as I have written the foreword.
Die Suidoosterfees in Cape Town commissions me to write a new play for their 2008 Festival.
My second of five seminars with UCT’s senior drama students takes place, this time focusing on marketing.
As a Sunday Times Fiction Awards judge, all free time is spent getting through the twenty-nine books we are required to read.
