Lockdown, Smackdown!

A number of events and theatre productions cancelled

The President of South Africa announced a three-week lockdown on 26 March in an effort to flatten the curve of Caronavirus infection.  (It has since been extended by a further two weeks to 30 April 2020).  The virus has impacted on just about every country and the arts have been as severely affected as any other industry.  Three international gigs (a seminar in Salzburg and two Ateliers for Festival Managers in Greece and Dusseldorf respectively) have been postponed or cancelled.  The May premiere of my new play, What we wish for, at the Fugard Theatre has been postponed.  In the meantime, the space and the time provide an opportunity to catch up with incredibly boring work - like finetuning databases!
