The lockdown to flatten the curve of coronavirus infections extended by two weeks

After 3 weeks of a hard lockdown, President Cyril Ramaphosa extended the 'level 5' lockdown by a further two weeks (SA has five levels to its lockdown with each level allowing more economic and social activity).  The extension has continued to impact adversely on the arts sector in particular, with 'gatherings' banned at least until Level 1.  And even then, social distancing will be required, which will make many productions - already precarious financially - unviable.
