Double Bill ends at Theatre on the Square

After a three-week run, my two new shows written during the COVID pandemic, come to an end.

The New Abnormal featuring Nhlanhla Shabangu and Country Duty performed by Khutjo Green premiered at the Theatre on the Square on 25 May and ended its run on Saturday 11 June.  Both pieces were written during the COVID-19 lockdowns when theatre was devastated by curfews, restricted audiences and closures.  With restrictions on indoor audiences still in place, the one-person show offers actors at least the opportunity to earn an income and the shows may be performed in formal theatres as well as informal spaces.  These two new works are part of a vision to host a festival of 7-10 one-person plays that I have penned in the near future.
