Alex Arts Academy workshop on cultural policy

From Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September, I facilitated a workshop on cultural policy and governance for 42 participants drawn from across the Johannesburg metro.  The workshop was held in Alexandra and was aimed mainly at community arts practitioners including those who had started and/or were running community arts centres.  Outcomes from the workshop included a vision for community arts centres, an outline of the ideal community arts centre manager and a proposed community arts charter around which to mobilise practitioners in this sector.
