Abraham's Promises in Hermanus

The FynArts Festival hosts a staged reading

Abraham's Promises is a scripted dialogue initiated by the provocative question 'Are Jews safer today than they were the day before 7 October 2023?'.  It takes the form of a panel discussion featuring representatives of the Abrahamic faiths.  We were invited by the FynArts Festival to present the work on Sunday 8 June.  There was a good attendance with interesting discussions afterwards including with the parents of someone who works for the UN and is in charge of aid distribution in Gaza!  While there was no time for engagement with the audience as a whole which is what we would prefer, subsequent feedback confirmed that the piece achieved what it set out to do: to provoke conversations and debate and to encourage people to do further research around the themes of the piece.
